Closing up shop – it’s time for me to be a painter

Last summer, I wrote to you with news about a new creative direction I’d been pursuing through painting. Since that time, I’ve established relationships with a few galleries and participated in a show titled ‘First Light’; where my Muskoka-inspired paintings were on display with Canadian Artist Shane Norrie‘s beautiful pottery (see banner image above). It has been an incredibly encouraging and affirming year, as the work has been well received by collectors.

I’ve decided that I need to say goodbye to my work as a portrait photographer so that I can fully explore what is around the corner for me as an artist. I regret that I won’t be able to continue capturing your children as they grow. I will miss you! The relationships I’ve made as a photographer have meant so much to me and each of you have been part of that. Thank you for inviting me into your lives, homes and families!

I won’t be booking photo sessions at this time, but check out these amazing photographers! There are so many wonderful photographers in our area and these are just a few. If you’re looking to book a session, please give one of them a call!

She’s ONE! :: Ancaster baby photographer

Visiting with this family is always a treat! I’ve been taking their pictures for years…. I think it’s been a decade! We met while shooting their engagement photos. Their wedding photos were legendary and super fun for me (we rode on a school bus to the park!) And over the years, I feel like we’ve become friends! So, watching them grow their family with a little boy and now a little girl, is extra special for me. Here is a glimpse of their sweet baby M. (we made a mess lol:)Happy 1st birthday!!

First baby of 2016 :: burlington newborn photographer

Each wrinkle on his swayed back, the dimples in his hands, his puckered little lips, the tiny piece of lint threaded between perfect baby toes… just a few of the things I enjoy about a new baby as sweet as this. Welcome to the world baby boy! And welcome to 2016!

the beauty of fall :: burlington family photographer

It’s pretty hard not to have an amazing time with your clients when they are as all-round fabulous as this family. I think this is our third year working together and at this point, even with three years between each session, it feels like friendship! We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful (though cold!) weather at their gorgeous home north of the city and the pictures capture a perfect balance of fall colours and family fun. Can’t wait to finish up the gallery!
